Monday January 19th  – 6:20 am

Good Morning Wildcat Community –

As we head into our last day of the holiday weekend, I want to thank everyone that came out and enjoyed Wildcat this weekend, and if haven’t yet, today will be the perfect day. The stoke is high and the skiing and riding has been great, so lets finish on a high note with another day of soft conditions as we picked up another 1-2 inches overnight, and we expect to pick up another inch through the day. Although we are anxiously awaiting a big snowfall, these small storms are perfect for freshening up our groomed trails and giving our team a little something to work with.

Today’s weather looks very similar to the last couple of days with overcast skies and snow showers while temps will top out in the upper teens to mid-20’s across mountain elevations. The winds should hold off until later this afternoon as we see another cold front move into the area overnight.

Today is our last day of holiday hours and will be open from 8:30am – 4pm, operating 4 lifts including the Wildcat Express, the Bobcat, the Snowcat, & the Snow Belt, with powder & packed powder conditions on 22 trails! This means that there is something for everyone to enjoy, with all beginner terrain open, long winding groomers, and natural rugged trails. Our Patrol Team is continuously assessing natural trails, and you may see terrain opening & closing throughout the day as conditions change. Stay close to the Lift & Trail Status page for the most up to day listing of open terrain.

Whether today is your first time or 50th time visiting Wildcat, don’t forget to stop by Wildcat Sports to grab your favorite logo wear or grab a quick 30-minute tune down in our rental shop. I’ve been mentioning alot this weekend about visiting the Bobcat bar to check out our new Lavazza espresso machine, and it sounds like many of you have enjoyed our fresh espresso beverages, especially our adult options. Back by popular demand are our famous Wildcat Trail pins, while supplies last, so stop by guest services to ask for your favorite trail!

PLEASE NOTE – This weekend our Patrol team was called to assist a couple groups of guests find their way out of side country terrain that is accessible from our trail network. These areas are beyond our resort boundary, for experts only, unmarked, and unpatrolled. If you are unfamiliar with this area it’s best to wait until we see a better snowpack and go with someone that has familiarity with this terrain. Thank you!

Our team had a lot of fun with everyone this weekend, as it is very rewarding for us all to see you enjoy yourselves. We strive to provide you with great service and an awesome experience, so there’s no time like now to come and see for yourself the Wildcat difference and what makes the vibe at our mountain so special!

We’ll see you out there!

Snow Surfaces Update

The team fired up again yesterday on Lower Catapult as we continue to push for expansion during this upcoming cold spell. Once complete there we still plan to move to Alley Cat, Middle Catapult, & Black Cat before we shift our focus to base building on core terrain.

Middle and Lower Lynx are starting to get pushed out, and you should expect to see this open in the next couple of days!

As we continue to get many questions around our terrain progression, I wanted to share this news coverage from Fox Weather where they interviewed the MW Weather Observatory around wind conditions experienced in December. The short of it is that we tied for the 16th windiest & coldest December on record, and although it was cold the extreme winds have a direct correlation to our ability to make snow effectively and not just in the woods. With water being our most important resource we need to be smart and strategic when and where we are making it, so just know we are taking advantage of every moment and do not hold back!

Uphill Access – OPEN

We have officially opening our uphill access for the season on the designated route of Polecat Trail from 4:30pm – 8am. Please reference our Uphill Policy here for more information, and please keep in mind that uphill access is not allowed during operational hours.
