Headline: Snow on the Horizon!
Good Morning Wildcat Community –
For the first time in a couple weeks the weather is starting to get me excited as we have some snowflake icons returning to the forecast for the next few days. Last night we picked up about a half inch and we expect another 4 inches tonight while another, larger system, is planned for Sunday in to Monday. We are still a couple days out and anything can happen with spring in New England, so keep sending those positive snow vibes and go crush a couple snowmen.
I wanted to start off with the positive, while I also need to be transparent and share some disappointing news that the Wildcat Express will not be operating today due to an electrical issue that our teams are diligently working through. We have additional resources coming onsite today and a part being overnighted as we’re doing everything we can to return it to operations for the weekend. I’ll be sure to keep you all updated on our progress. With that we are planning to operate the Tomcat, Snowcat & Bobcat chairs for access to terrain today.
Looking at today’s weather, we are expecting a mix of sun and clouds to start the day, shifting to mostly cloudy as the next slider system moves in this evening. Temps will be a bit warmer than yesterday with highs topping out at 31 – 37 degrees across mountain elevations. Winds will start the day light then become breezy in the afternoon as the even front approaches.
We will be open today from 9am – 4pm with 4 lifts and 12 trails including the Tomcat, Bobcat, Snowcat, and Snowbelt lifts. Conditions will be machine groomed frozen granular and variable in spots, and feedback from our Ski Patrol team and guests yesterday was that the snow was skiing really well.
We also have our signature après scene in the Wildcat Pub on Saturday with Mitch Alden playing from 1 – 4pm.
Back by popular demand are our famous Wildcat Trail pins, and other free limited-edition pins, while supplies last, so stop by guest services to ask for your favorite trail! And if you haven’t stopped in to grab your Wildcat logo gear at Wildcat Sports this season, now is the time as select apparel is now 30% as we go into latter part of our winter season.
While March hasn’t lived up to the hype so far, we are not down and out and still have plenty of good turns and strong vibes ahead of us! A day on the slopes is still better than a day at home so come up and allow our team to provide our signature Wildcat hospitality! We’ll see you out there!

TERRAIN EXPANSION UPDATE - The grooming team is continuing to work and assess the ability to bring Lynx and Upper Catapult back online and appreciate your patience as we balance grooming our existing footprint with the time-consuming snow pushing work needed to reopen those trails. Most of Lynx and Upper Cata are in good condition, however both have very specific sections where the weather burned out large parts of the trail requiring large snow long pushes of snow. There is also a lot of water that is flowing down and out of this mountain that create large ice boils that need to be ground up and covered. We have partnered with Pisten Bully to bring in a special bucket implement that connects to our snow cat’s allowing us to tap into our strategic snow stocks and place the snow exactly where its needed. An example of this is taking buckets of the snowmaking piles at the top of Black Cat that we have been saving, and moving them to Middle Wildcat to bulk up that critical area. We are getting creative and not throwing in the towel as we are determined to keep going into April.
