Headline: Soft Turns Await on 95% of Terrain!

Good Morning Wildcat Community –

We have another good one on tap in Pinkham Notch today as we continue to enjoy yesterday’s new snow that has been groomed out really well to provide some continued soft turns today. The mountain continues to hold up really well despite the need to close a few natural trails as we look toward some spring conditions in the upcoming weekend and early next week. Before that we will have a couple of seasonable days with the possibility of an inch of snow overnight going into Friday which should make for a great last Passholder First Tracks tomorrow with lifts opening at 8:30am. The weekend looks to warm up with just a chance of a small amount of wet precipitation Saturday morning, while Sunday looks to be on point with clearing skies and warmer temps. Don’t let the forecast spook you as it should be a great weekend of skiing & riding!

Today’s weather looks to start the day with partly cloudy skies that will shift to mostly cloudy as the day progresses, keeping temps seasonable with highs topping out at 26 – 32 degrees across mountain elevations. Winds will remain relatively calm today and will not impact lifts in any way today.

Today we are open from 9:00am – 4pm with 3 lifts, including the Wildcat Express, Snowcat, and Snow Belt. The grooming team focused on our tilling in yesterday’s new snow on our core snowmaking terrain last night, and you can expect packed powder machine groomed conditions on 21 trails while our 21 natural trails will be packed powder/variable. Temps did not get overly cold last night and hovered just around the freezing mark, so the snow will be soft as you come in today across most of the mountain.

If you haven’t stopped in to grab your Wildcat logo gear at Wildcat Sports this season, now is the time as select apparel is now 30% as we go into latter part of our winter season. Our most popular Wildcat Pub specials is going on today with Flatbread Thursdays- Purchase any beverage and get a Flatbread for $12.00. Not only do we have our normal flat bread options, but expand the menu during this special to have even more options. I have personally had our new Polecat Flatbread, and can vouch for how delicious it is. The team uses fresh ingredients from local Maine vendors, so this is not one to miss!

Looking forward to the rest of the month, we have some great après and events such as our signature Wildcat Apres with live music every Friday & Saturday, as well as hosting the 75th Wildcat Ski Team Sap Run on March 14th & 15th, one of the oldest ski races in the state. We will also be hosting a special Wildcat ski day with the Mount Washington Valley Adaptive Sports program on Saturday March 21st, where new and existing participants can develop their skills on Wildcat’s signature terrain. Finally, we are super excited for the return of the ever popular Spring Fling and Pond Skim on Saturday April 4th, so start planning your costumes and practice sitting in the back seat to make it across. You may even see myself attempting to part the seas and stay “dry”!

There is still a lot of winter season ahead of us and this is the time of the year where it gets really good at Wildcat. Yes, we have some interesting weather ahead of us, but the mountain is looking great and we look forward to keeping us skiing and riding as long as possible this year. We really appreciate the great feedback we have been receiving from so many of you that have come to enjoy Wildcat, and hope to you see you all again real soon!
