Wildcat Puts Largest Snowmaking Upgrade In Ski Area History To Initial Test Making Snow Sunday Night, October 19

Wildcat Mountain has completed the largest snowmaking upgrade in its history installing over 10 miles of new snowmaking water and air pipe, acquiring 227 new high output/high efficiency snow guns and completing the construction of a new, state-of-the-art, mid-mountain, booster pump house. Over $2 million dollars has been invested to dramatically improve the snowmaking efficiency and output of Wildcat's snowmaking system.

Obituary | William D. "Mack" Beal, Jr.

William D. "Mack" Beal, Jr. of Jackson, N.H. died at his home on August 26, 2014. He was 90 years old. Mack was one of the original founders of the Wildcat Ski Area in 1957. In 1959, he created Dundee Management Corporation in order to acquire and protect land in the Jackson area. Mack was also one of the founders of the White Mountain National Bank in 1963 as well as a former Fish and Game Warden for the state of New Hampshire, and a Life Trustee for the Mount Washington Observatory.

Unfortunately the weather this week took its toll on the snowpack and we will not be reopening for another weekend of skiing at Wildcat. There has been too much snow lost to offer a safe and skiable product we would we proud of. Thanks again to everyone who was part of a great season at the mountain that spanned 156 days starting in late November and ending on Sunday, April 27 where we were treated to powder conditions on the upper mountain. Do what you have to make it through the summer and be ready for another ski season at Wildcat once the cold comes back.

Notes From The Summit GM Blog - With Mixed Emotions...We Are Closed. (5/1/14)

As I write this, it's 38 degrees in the base area with a drenching rain falling and not a very nice day up here at Wildcat Mountain. I’d be lying to you if I said that I wasn’t thinking, “Can you imagine if this was snow?!” Today is May 1 (happy May Day) and like some of you, I have a very hard time letting go of the white stuff. But, like every year, Mother Nature takes our snow and leaves us with…"Mud Season"! With this said, Wildcat Mountain will not open this weekend and we are now closed for the season with our final day having been Sunday, April 27.
