Introduction
to Backcountry Telemark Skiing
Come learn
about backcountry skiing with Wildcat ski instructors presented
in cooperation with Eastern Mountain Sports. Two Day Workshop
includes:
Day One: Refine your ski technique
in a small group lesson with Wildcat's most experienced telemark
instructors. Since the
clinics will emphasize negotiating
ungroomed snow, strategies for tree skiing and other advanced tactics to deal
with the variable snow conditions found in the backcountry, participants should
be comfortable freeheel skiing on most blue terrain in the varied conditions
that New England throws at us.
Day Two: Learn about backcountry
skiing on Mt. Washington with guides from the EMS Climbing School, the backcountry
experts. You'll learn about using climbing skins, avalanche
transceivers, trip planning, route finding, and much more during a tour on
one of our local backcountry ski trails.
(2 person minimum, offered on a limited basis --- call for details)
