Twenty-five Wildcat skiers proved that “more is better” when it comes to big vertical and fund raising on Monday, March 3. The 5th Annual 100K Day for The Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire® is a time for skiers and snowboarders who know how to make the most of each run experience almost a season’s worth of vertical in one day. To achieve 100K in vertical each participant needed to make 48 runs on the Lynx Trail; and 25 out of 28 participants reached the 100K mark, and several reached even higher tallies.

To make it to the start line, participants were required to collect contributions for the The Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Hampshire®, an organization that grants wishes to young N.H. residents who face life threatening medical conditions.
The group as a whole contributed more than $30,000; and one skier, Charlie Tillett (Wayland, Mass. pictured here) set the pace for fundraising, collecting more than $11,000. According to Tillett, he contacted other skiers, who would understand the physical challenge of skiing 100,000 vertical feet in one day, the skiing equivalent of a marathon. |
